Her

The king in his empty castle sits.

Half mooned crescent gently floating.

And even though he in golden riches lives.

For her, his heart is ever longing.

Joy Follows Sadness

Sometimes clouds roll forth and block the sun;

Sometimes sharp winds uproot vegetation.

Yet,

Always joy follows sadness;

Always a warm breeze makes light our situation.

Ash and Smoke – Poetry

What begins as rain ‘pon mountain’s cap,

And warmth ‘neath arms of Oak.

Soon turns to flood of raging river,

And death in ash and smoke.

Fairest Flower – Love

O Fairest Flower ‘neath rising sun,

Your honey’d scent has reached me,

In a gentle breeze my eyes are won,

Your piercing gaze defeats me.

But we cannot be, my darling rose,

For your love does not rest in me,

Rather it is only a shadow that tricks my eyes,

Born from darker places within me.

Be The Bee – Poetry

Be the bee that sees sweetness in all, dark and light.
Not the fly that finds faults in fairest flower- blinded sight.

Smile in the Sunshine – Poetry

Smile in the sunshine.

Rejoice in the rain.

Be grateful for the good times.

Be patient with the pain.

Newly Created Poetic Forms: Zakariyan Sonnet, Aztec, ‘Ayn

I have developed three new poetic forms. Please feel free to try them out:

Zakariyan Sonnet

ABAB

CDCD

EFEF

GG

The rhyme scheme is based on the Shakespearean, but the difference is there are no syllabic requirements on the poet. So you can express yourself fully without worrying about having to add or take away a word. There is also no set meter. Expressive freedom is at the heart of this form.

Aztec Form

1…………

2………………..

3……………………………..

4………………………………………….

Thform is based on the pyramids created by the Aztecs. You can increase the size of the pyramid ad infinitum. (Note. stage 20 onward will require a huge piece of paper!)

The ‘Ayn Form

I am ########lost####### upon the tracks of life.

‘Ayn means ‘eye’ in Arabic. The layout of the words reflects what you are saying.
